The Missouri Boatman. 3/16″ x 1 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ blade. O/A length is approximately 9-1/2″. Having the same steel and tempering properties as the Arkansas Traveler, it is definitely a working knife. Since it is a numbered series knife and the date of completion recorded in my ledger, more value has been added to the knife as a collectors piece! The Missouri Boatman was designed from an old museum photo, then called the boatman. Thus, I dubbed this design the “Missouri Boatman.” Blades are always stamped and numbered on the right side of the knife blade at the top part of the ricosso or spine, with the number under the name “DURR.” For instance, if the finished blade is the 20th one in that series, the number 20 would be stamped on that blade; the next one made would be numbered ’21’ and so on. This one has real “historical character”.
